SESSION PLANNING
PREP FOR THE SESSION
DO'S & DON'TS
PLEASE DO THESE
DO-
-
Book a makeup artist (you want to feel your best for these!) and plan accordingly for makeup application time and travel time to the location. Consider a brown Smokey look
-
Exfoliate and wear lotion and shave (if shaving is your thing)
-
Fix your nails- Trim fingernails and fix chipped polish. This includes toenails.
-
Pick a location you are comfortable with. Some locations may be more populated. If you need help on figuring out which locations are more hidden, lmk!
-
Wear loose clothing while driving to the shoot- This will prevent indent marks from clothing
-
Wear earth tones, black, creams, etc.- These compliment my work the best
PLEASE DO NOT DO THESE
DO NOT-
-
Spray Tan- This will cause you to look so orange in the photos. Instead, I can make you more tan via editing.
-
Wear bright colors or neon, baby blues, and in some cases- pure white- I will help you plan accordingly for the location you choose, but these colors can leave a colors cast on you skin, look odd in certain locations, and don't mesh well with my editing, or can wash skin tones out.
-
Wear dark makeup- You want your natural beauty to shine through. Plus, too much black on the eyes can make your eyes look like they are missing and there is a black hole there in the place of your eyes. Instead, consider a warm brown Smokey look.
-
Freak Out- You are beautiful inside and out! I will help you with posing, fix your hair if it's out of place, check your teeth for lipstick, etc. You are going to do amazing!
NIGHT BEFORE:
-
CLOTHING- If you are a stickler for wrinkles, then steam/iron clothing. Then, put outfits on hangers grouping them by outfits with accessories. If you are borrowing from the client closet, I'll have your items all ready to go when we meet up.
-
PACK- Pack up some makeup for a touch up, a comp, hairspray, a towel and flip flops if we are going in water, bug spray, and water.
-
NAILS- Trim fingernails and fix chipped polish. This is also a great excuse to have a spa night treat yourself to some movies, popcorn, hot chocolate, nail painting, and face masks.
-
DIRECTIONS- Make sure you look up the location on your phone and check to see how long it takes to get to there from your home and take traffic into consideration
DAY OF:
-
REST- make sure you are well rested.
-
GET READY- Start getting ready a few hours before the session. Allow yourself plenty of time so you don't feel rushed.
-
BRUSH AND FLOSS- Make sure there isn't any lingering food or plaque in the teeth.
-
ARRIVE- Please try to arrive on time.
SEE YOU THERE!
