WHAT TO EXPECT-
Your cake smash session will run for roughly 1 hour. There will be a cake-less portion, a cake portion, and a milk bath portion.
The set up is styled by me with props from my studio (unless you bring your own), and I will have some cute little outfits for you to choose from for your baby to wear. You can bring an outfit from home for your baby if you wish, please stick to neutral colors if you do (Creams and earth tones are best for the set up).
Photographer will provide a simple white naked cake, but if you wish to bring your own instead, Please let photographer know ASAP. If you decide to bring your own, go with a white or yellow cake. Chocolate cakes and red cakes sometimes look like blood and mud... or worse.
If bub doesn't like cake parents can bring in other food items such as watermelon, spaghetti, tacos, pizza, etc.

The Studio
My lifestyle studio is decorated beautifully with neutral browns and creams, pampas grass, boho flower arrangements, macramé, rattan furniture, and tons of gorgeous textures if you would like to get a few photos of your baby on the lifestyle set up.

When you enter, there are cubbies to place your shoes and hooks to hang your coats.
There is a cozy client area for you to relax in. It features a T.V. , toys for children, a coffee station, yummy snacks, and waters.

PREP FOR THE SESSION
Don't assume they will dive in-
We begin by taking pictures of your little one in their cake smash outfit before introducing the cake.
Most parents assume their little one will dive right in and go crazy when a cake is put in front of them. However this doesn’t always happen and that’s okay. We will let your baby set the pace, as some babies are more than happy to make a huge mess, while others may need a little bit of encouragement and sometimes even help to get into their cake. Be ready to get your hands dirty and help your little one get past all the frosting to the cake underneath! It's always a great idea to practice by introducing cake to baby before their session so they get used to the funny texture and to make sure they aren't allergic.
DAY OF:

PACK-
1. extra diapers and wet wipes
2. sippy cup, and tiny snacks such as blueberries, puffs, and cheerios to hide in the cake if they don't like it.
3. 1 Towel and a baby wipes or face towel for cleaning up bubs after the milk bath and cake

NAPS- Make sure baby has a nap.

CLOTHES- You as the parent should wear something you don't mind getting cake all over. you WILL get messy too from holding your baby after.

SIBLINGS/FAMILY- Leave siblings at home if possible so baby isn't distracted. Immediate family members only. Too many people trying to get your child to smile will distract your child.

PARTICIPANTS- These are baby only sessions. If you would like to book a separate family session, I would be more than happy to.

IMAGES/ADDITIONAL COSTS/THEMES:
THEMES: We offer simple themes included in the cake smash mood boards. If you would like a theme other than what is offered, You are in charge for covering the cost for the additional props (I will do my best to ensure the props are adorable and as affordable as possible.)
ADDITINAL IMAGES: You will receive the amount of photos listed in your purchased package, but clients typically love their photos so much that they want to purchase more than what's included in their package, In this instance you can most definitely purchase more photos at $50/extra photo. I also give a huge discount if purchasing 10 or more extra photos making it $35/extra photo.
